Privacy
This site collects very little. There are no accounts, no cookies and no advertising trackers.
In your browser
Your saved use cases, the use cases you voted for and your theme are kept in your browser's local storage; whether you closed the sponsor bar is kept only until you close the tab. None of it leaves your device, and clearing your browser data removes it.
Votes
When you press “I want this” or the up arrow, we add one to that use case's count. We keep no lasting record of who voted. To stop the same visitor voting again and again, we keep a salted, one-way hash of your network address, the use case and the day for two days, and a similar hash of your address for one hour to limit floods. Neither stores the address itself, and both are deleted automatically.
Newsletter
When you sign up for the daily email, your address goes straight to our email provider, Kit, which sends a message asking you to confirm. We don't keep your address on our own servers. To limit abuse, sign-ups use the same short-lived, salted hash of your network address as votes. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and Kit's privacy policy covers how they hold your address.
Submissions
Use cases are submitted through GitHub issues, so what you write there, and your GitHub username, are public on GitHub under GitHub's own privacy terms.
Sponsors
Sponsor links go straight to the sponsor's site. We don't share anything about you with sponsors.
